Southend Toy Library has been given a boost which will help youngsters smile.
The new Southend mayor, Tony North, has chosen the library, based at Southend Hospital, as one of his nominated charities for his year of office.
He pledged his support by officially opening its annual garden fete which was held in the grounds of the Kingsdown School, just off Snakes Lane in Eastwood.
The library provides toys, specialist equipment and respite care for children with special needs.
