The Irish Centre, Canning Town, London, played host to the England v Russia schoolboy boxing international.
Clacton's Aaron Ball, 16, made his international debut, turning in a superb display to stop Russian Sergei Ognev in the second round. Ognev was a strong puncher, who had come with a very impressive record coupled with a handful of internationals to his experience.
From the opening bell, Ball moved well and fired off long-range shots keeping his opponent at bay. The second round saw ball adding punishing body shots.
By the end of the round, the combinations were landing hard and fast, every shot finding their mark.
With Ognev in trouble the referee decided enough was enough.
Aaron's father/trainer Steve said: "It was a tremendous display. After six years of boxing, everything is really coming together, I'm very proud of him.
"I'm looking forward to next season. At Colchester Boxing Club we have some very promising youngsters."
Aaron and schools champion Hector Seaman are now resting and will resume training in October for the NABC Championships.
