All players and clubs are reminded that the annual meeting of the Chelmsford & District Table Tennis League will be held on Thursday, May 27 at the Old Chelmsfordians Club, Roxwell Road, Chelmsford, starting at 7.30pm.
It is a league rule that all clubs must be represented.
Trophies will be presented to the winning teams and runners-up of each division.
Rule change proposals include a series of measures to clarify the existing rules and procedures; rather than any significant change in policy.
There is a proposal to clarify the rules concerning postponements as well as a proposal to ensure that clubs try and place players in a division most akin to the player's standard.
There is also a proposal to abandon the four-man team in the lowest division and perhaps the most controversial proposal is restrict the arrival time of every player at a match to 60 minutes after the start of that match.
Three players well-known to the Chelmsford league shone at the recent Essex Youth Open at Colchester Leisure World.
Former Chelmsford men's singles champion Reagan Nettleingham fought his way through to U21s final with hard-fought wins over William O'Leary (Herts), Owen Griffiths (Wales), Steven Beerling (Kent) and Eli Baraty (Middx) before missing out against the top-seeded Paul Pountney (Surrey).
Ben Warner, who has improved out of all recognition over the last 12 months, sensationally toppled number three seed Jon Nilsson (Sweden) in the second round of the U21s event before bowing out to Ross Walker (Kent) at 18-in-the-third of a superb quarter-final.
Ben played equally well in the U17 boys event, thrashing the higher-rated Tim Holtam (Middx) before losing to eventual champion Oliver Stevens (Kent) 25-23 in the third after an absolute thriller.
Ben trailed 20-13 and miraculously took the next eight points before serving off at 21-20.
Matthew Staines, an ECC regular and already Braintree Junior boys champion at 13 years of age, continued his fine run of form by reaching the U14 boys quarter-final with an excellent win over the much-higher ranked Peter Daniels (Wiltshire)
Colin Carslake (ECC) has been one of the county's busiest players on the tournament circuit this year and has scored some sensational wins of late.
After beating England number 22 Christian Thompson (Kent) and number 89 David Goldbold (Durham) at the Blackpool Open he could be forgiven for wishing to rest on his laurels.
However, he excelled again at Sheffield with brilliant wins over England number 74, Gary Tendler (Ilford) and Richard Smith (Yorkshire) ranked 87.
Currently ranked at 105, Colin could well break into the top 100 in the last ETTA ranking list of the season.
