Brentwood Swimming Clubs were in action at the weekend in the Runnymede Young Champs Gala.
Many new personal best times were achieved and some of them swam extremely well to get through to the finals held in the evening.
Charlene Glover powered her way to win the Girls 12 years 100m freestyle, second 100m butterfly and breaststroke and was fourth 100m backstroke.
She was awarded Top Girl of the meet gaining the most points from all of her swims.
Christie Mecklenburgh swam superbly destroying the field to win the Girls 11 years 100m backstroke and breaststroke and was just touched out into second place in the 100m freestyle.
She set new personal best times in all of her events improving her times by a good few seconds.
Sarah Holdsworth came into form by getting to all four finals coming second Girls 10 years 50m butterfly, third 50m breaststroke, fourth 50m backstroke and sixth 50m freestyle.
Tom West battled his way into the finals coming fourth 100m freestyle, fifth 100m butterfly and backstroke.
Others swimming were Emily Cole, Rebecca Sutton, Marie and Sophie Moucarry, Daniel Hunt, Daniel Phillips and Andrew Cowing.
All-in-all, a good performance from the young swimmers, coach Simon Theobald was delighted with their swims saying that all their hard training and dedication is now paying off and that they deserve this success.
