Tsu-mo-kie Judo Club have had a busy time since Easter.
Members from the Brentwood based club attended a week's course in Hemsby studying not only Judo but all other Martial Arts.
The course was so successful that Tsu-Mo-Kie have arranged their own course during half-term in October at the same venue.
On April 18, the KSK Judo Club organised a competition in Basildon.
Eight members of TMK attended the competition and won four gold medals (Russ Kite, Tim Kite, Tony Green and Sebastion Cook), one silver (Martin Green) and two bronze trophies (Michael Wheeler and Michael Green) between them.
Daniel Wheeler also attended and fought well.
On April 25, Judo UK held their spring competition in Basildon. The competition attracted 165 competitors from all over Essex which included 24 from Tsu-Mo-Kie.
The club won seven gold (Alexandria Brittain, Sebastion Cook, Tim Kite, Michael Green, Suzanna Blake, Jo Cook and Russ Kite), two silver (Martin Green and Rebecca Blake) and six bronze (Daniel Taylor, Tony Green, Nicholas Lynch, Hannah Whitbread, Coral Deja and Sacha Kent).
Others attending were Samuel Ribbits, William Swan, Paul Allen, Matthew Wheeler, Jack Whiting, Daniel Wheeler, James Lynch, James Houghton, Scott Allen.
Sunday, May 9 bought the first grading for Judo UK. Ten members of the club attended and all passed.
The junior results were: Sebastian Cook: Green + 4 brown tabs; Martin Green: Green + 3 brown tabs; Josh Barber: Green + 1 brown tab; Robert Keyes: Green belt. Senior result Kyu grades: Yvonne Cook: Green belt; Ann Mason: Blue belt; Tim Stubbings: Brown belt.
Three members of the club took Dan Grades. Russ Kite gained a Black belt, 1st Dan fighting and Sally-Anne Green and Duncan Canton gained Black belts, 1st Dan teaching.
This weekend is the date for an International course at the club and competition with a mini competition in the second week of June for under 10 year olds.
The Judo UK summer competition is the last week in June. Displays for local schools and business take up all the weekends in July.
