Wannabe chef Ivana Grebovic has won a place in the finals of the Young Pasta Cook of the Year.
The 13-year-old pupil at the King Edmund School in Rochford is busy preparing her pots and pans to compete in the final stage of the event held at the Savoy Hotel in London on May 25.
She will be representing the south-east in the competition after being encouraged to enter by her classmates and her food technology teacher.
Top chef Anton Edelmann will be judging the entries and if Ivana wins, she will take home a set of Le Creuset cast iron cookware worth £800.
Cooking is just a hobby for Ivana, but if she wins she said she may start to think seriously about it as a career. Anton Edelmann said: "Ivana's menu contains that something special and her use of seared lamb in the main course is very innovative."
Ivana will be cooking halved tomatoes stuffed with herbs and garlic as a starter, seafood pasta shells with spinach sauce as the main course and dark chocolate ravioli for dessert.
