Bolton skipper Mark Fish is a major doubt for the clash at Portman Road after limping out of Sunday's match with a calf injury.
Gudni Bergsson replaced the former Lazio man and looks set to take his place again if the South African fails to recover.
Trotters boss Colin Todd remains confident that his side can make it to Wembley, despite only earning a 1-0 lead from the home leg of Sunday's play-off semi-final.
Todd judges that Ipswich's need to score will cause them to leave more gaps at the back, favouring Wanderers' counter-attacking style.
He said: "I think the longer it takes them to score the more caution they might throw to the wind. As a manager now I would be foolish to change the way we play. We can't go to Ipswich and defend for 90 minutes."
