Little Ebonie is all smiles after being reunited with Chloe - the cat rescued by firefighters after getting trapped in a car.
Heavily-pregnant Chloe fled under the vehicle after being spotted wandering around a building site in Hatterhill, Laindon, last week.
A concerned animal lover called out the RSPCA and the fire brigade, but as they tried to persuade her to come out, a terrified Chloe jumped under the wheel arches of the Vauxhall Cavalier, wedging herself against the suspension.
Fire crews from Basildon had to use air bags to raise the rear end of the car then sprayed water on Chloe to persuade her to come out.
She was then handed to an RSPCA inspector who gave her a full check-up.
Tammy Lewis, 19, read about the rescue in the Echo and realised the mystery cat was her missing Chloe.
She finally brought her home on Saturday to the waiting arms of her excited two-year-old daughter Ebonie.
Tammy said: "Chloe's due to give birth any time now. Luckily she wasn't injured and she's absolutely fine.
"I don't know why she wandered off but she was gone a week and it seemed like ages."
Safe and sound - little Ebonie Lewis, two, gives Chloe a big hug
