Police investigating the cause of a fatal road accident in Braintree have appealed for information about two cars seen driving "erratically" at the time of the smash.
The accident happened on the A131, near Marks Farm, at 11.30am on Easter Sunday.
Jean Casey, 66, from Bicknacre, near Chelmsford, and Louise Clowes, 88, from Nottingham, were killed in the collision.
Police inquiries have now led to information about two other cars being driven "erratically".
One was a dark, old-style Audi and the other a white Austin Montego, the driver of which has been described as being in his late teens or early 20s with long, straggly, dark hair and unshaven.
