Daniel Phillips, 10, a member of the Brentwood based Recoil Trampoline Club, bounced his way to a gold medal winning position at a recent trampoline competition held at Harlow.
It was only the second competition for Daniel who competed in the U11 Novice group. "We entered a very inexperienced team, most of our competitors were competing for the first time and all did extremely well," said coach Tricia Johnston.
Recoil Trampoline Club boasts an experienced team of coaches, three of whom are Advanced Part II qualified.
This enables them to coach moves that involve multiple somersaults with multiple twists.
"It was a very in depth and demanding course but well worth it," Tricia said. "I believe it has improved all aspects of my coaching at every level. It is imperative that coaches are suitably qualified to insure high safety standards."
The club, who train at the Brentwood Centre and Shenfield Sports Centre, cater for all abilities from beginner to advanced, age six to adult.
If anybody may be interested in joining the Recoil Trampoline Club, telephone Tricia Johnston on 01277 650166 for more information.
