There was sheer delight at Burnham Rugby Club when it was confirmed that Burnham third XV under their captain and manager Jim Kelly had not only won their League, the BL League Division Five, but had managed to do so with an impressive 100 per cent record of eight wins and no losses.
A modest Kelly stated that he was lucky with the great crowd of players that he had around him and the tremendous team spirit that had been shown throughout the season.
Youth Rugby Training at Burnham is set to continue on Sundays throughout the summer as long as there is demand from the children to continue training.
There will be no training this Sunday but normality will resume the following Sunday.
The ladies training on Wednesday nights appears to be going from strength to strength under the guidance of coaches Gig and Baker with good numbers of players keen to continue training with their captain Kirkham and manager Cracknell.
