Dedicated drinkers were out in force for the first night of Castle Point's Beer Festival.
As the beer flowed at Runnymede Hall in Benfleet, the audience were treated to live music from cover band Slice.
There was something for everyone to enjoy, with hits from the Beatles to Oasis belted out during the night.
This year's festival features 40 different real ales. Hot food is available at every session from now until Saturday night.
There is a string of events and entertainment lined up. Anyone who wants more information or tickets should contact 01268 882473.
