A couple from Dovercourt have proved you are never too old to fall in love.
The pair are set to tie the knot - despite both being in their 80s.
Win Norwood and John Ludlow will be taking their vows on June 12 after finding love and friendship at the care home where they are residents.
Mrs Norwood, 88, has been a widow for 15 years while Mr Ludlow is still a bachelor at the age of 87.
The couple have been "friends and companions" at Don Thomson House in Low Road for three years.
But Mr Ludlow decided he had been a bachelor for long enough and asked Mrs Norwood to marry him.
Mrs Norwood said: "We met three years ago in September and then grew to like each other. We've got things in common and things gradually went on from there."
Mrs Norwood said she "stalled" at the idea of marriage to begin with because of their ages but eventually she was won round.
She said: "We are both old fashioned in our ideas, so marriage is the right thing to do. The staff are all really excited."
Mrs Norwood said family and friends have been "thrilled to bits" for them. The couple will have a church ceremony followed by a buffet at Don Thomson House after the ceremony.
