Police are seeking a motorist who punched a bus driver during rush hour in Chelmsford.
Officers are also anxious to trace witnesses to the road rage incident which happened at about 6.30pm on April 19.
An Eastern National bus driver received facial injuries when the attacker got out of his car and put his fist through the window of the bus, catching the driver's cheek.
He told police he had stopped to let the man - thought to have been driving a red car - reverse.
But he got out of the car and made his way back to the bus and attacked the driver.
The attacker is described as about 30-years-old, stocky with fair cropped hair and wearing a light coloured shirt and trousers.
A police spokeswoman described the attack as a "nasty incident" and appealed for anyone who may have seen anything to contact police in Chelmsford.
She said: "Fortunately the driver was not seriously hurt but it could have been a lot worse. It is also possible the other driver hurt his hand when he put it through the window," she added.
