How would you say no to an incinerator in an eye catching way?
Members of Rayleigh Civic Society want to know and have organised a competition for people to make up a short, catchy phrase in order to draw people's attention to the campaign against the Rayleigh incinerator plant proposals.
There are two categories - adults and under 18s - and entries must be received by July 1.
The winner in the adult section will win a bottle of wine and the best children's entrant be awarded a large box of sweets.
Alan Davison, Rayleigh Civic Society's spokesman, said: "A great deal of justified concern and opposition has been voiced regarding the proposed Rayleigh incinerator plant.
"Rayleigh Civic Society has organised a simple competition to help with this campaign."
The competition also coincides with the launch of Environment Week which will be celebrated by Rayleigh Civic Society in the next couple of weeks.
Entry is free and need only be written on ordinary paper stating name, address, telephone number and age if under 18.
They must all be sent to Alan at 2, Lower Lambricks, Rayleigh, Essex, SS6 8DB, by July 1.
If you would like to join Rayleigh Civic Society, send a cheque made payable to the society for £2 for single membership or £2.50 for family membership and post it to Mr O Kebbell, RCS Treasurer, 34 London Hill, Rayleigh, Essex, SS6 7HP.
