At the end of a long Nationwide road, Ipswich skipper Tony Mowbray can visualise his dream of victory - and a Premiership berth.
He keeps images in his head of what it will be like if Town beat Sheffield United on Sunday after hearing Bradford have failed at Wolves.
The Blues' players' player of the year said: "I can picture the scene at the end of the game. I can hear the applause from the crowd and the cheering when the result from Wolves come in. But we know we have to work for the right for those dreams to come true.
"There is a lot to do before that picture becomes reality but I know we are capable of achieving exactly that."
Only James Scowcroft with a sore knee is an injury doubt but changes could still be made to the team that lost at Birmingham.
Aware of teams changing their styles to play Town, whose reputation for crisp passing and playing through midfield has preceded them, George Burley may change formation.
Bobby Petta may come in as Town go to a 4-4-2 with Manuel Thetis on the bench along with Mick Stockwell and Richard Naylor.
Blues boss Burley said: "There is no doubt teams have adapted to play us and have set their stall out to make sure we don't play through the midfield and stop our passing game and we have to adjust to that.
"Teams are showing us that respect and that is why we are one game away from the Premiership.
"We have not scored enough goals of late but we know we are capable of doing that. It is a team effort so we are looking for goals from all over.
"We have trained as normal as possible. We changed things last week and it didn't work so this week we have kept our routine.
"We have shown great consistency throughout the season and we are at the 46th game knowing victory could take us to the Premiership so their is a big incentive for everybody.
"Bradford know if they win at Wolves they will finish second but it is a very tough game for them and if they win there they deserve to finish second."
"It will be a great occasion for everyone, a capacity crowd and live on Sky TV. It is always good to finish the last game of the season with a win and even if we don't go through it will give us a good psychological edge going into the play offs.
"I'm looking forward to it. I was disappointed to lose at Birmingham. I don't like getting beaten and there is the chance to put things right on Sunday."
Memories of Town's 2-2 draw with Sheffield United two season ago are just that, distant memories.
James Scowcroft and Niklas Gudmundsson scored but the Blues lost out on a Wembley final with Crystal Palace on away goals.
Only Scowcroft, Richard Wright, Mick Stockwell and Kieron Dyer, took part that night who still remain at the club.
Burley said: "There have been a lot of games since then and the games we have had against them have been good."
"There has been a lot of change in personnel and a lot of things have happened since then."
Bradford's Lee Sandford and Petre Koutchro are included in the squad though both have refused to sign new contracts and could leave under the Bosman Ruling after Monday.
Blues' skipper Tony Mowbray (right) can lead his side to victory at home to Sheffield United, but must then hope that QPR can at least draw with Bradford City.
