Last week's bill at York Hall featured two promising young boxers in the form of Nicky Cook and Gary Steadman.
Super bantamweight Cook, 19, from Dagenham, was making his third professional appearance and extended his unbeaten record with an impressive first round knockout of his more experienced opponent, Bulgarian, Vasil Paskalev.
Cook, who is trained by his brother and his father Paul - once a pro boxer himself - is looking forward to his next fights, hopefully on a bill on May 25, then on June 29 in Coventry.
Steadman, who made his third professional appearance at York Hall, lives in Canning Town and works in a boxing shop in Bow.
He is under the wing of Dean Powell and trains at the Lennox Lewis College, Stanford Hill. "It's a nice big gym, just five minutes from the shop," said Steadman. "I even go there during my lunch breaks."
At York Hall, super featherweight Steadman beat Gary 'The Rhine-stone Cowboy' Groves.
Steadman dominated the first round and recorded his third consecutive victory when Groves was forced to retire after an unfortunate clash of heads in the second round.
