Billericay rounded off a superb season on Sunday by winning the Essex Presidents Shield Final and achieving the unique treble, having already won Eastern Counties Division Two and the Tetley Bitter Vase final at Twickenham.

Having been forced into playing two games in two days, and without the services of both Gary Pearmain (injured) and Steve Clow (holiday), Billericay still came out on top against a determined Ravens side, despite trailing 8-7 at the break.

The first half saw Billericay take the lead after slick handling saw Jim Hayter crash over which Harman converted to give the Willowbrook side a 7-0 lead.

However Ravens responded with an unconverted try and a penalty late into the first half to lead at the break.

The only score of the second half came from winger Mike Coxford beating his man and racing in midway through the second half.

With Billericay's forwards and in particular the front row of Tony Bond, Paul Daly, Wayne Hallett and later Bryan Heffernan proving far too strong for their opposite numbers Billericay came out deserved winners to round off a remarkable season.

On Saturday, Billericay travelled to South Woodham Ferrers for their last League match of the season and won 34-12 thanks to two tries from back row Martin Green and one apiece for Jim Hayter, Jeff Brown, Mike Coxford and John Stevens.

Billericay can now look forward to a deserved rest before beginning their assault in Eastern Counties Division One next season after this season's statistics finished as follows: played 31, won 30, drawn 0, lost 1. Points for 1215, points against 180.

League only: played 16, won 16, drawn 0, lost 0. Points for 875, points against 58.
