Colchester United manager Mick Wadsworth is turning to youth for the U's final game of the season at Blackpool in two days' time.

And exciting "find of the season" Lomana Tresor Lua Lua will be back from a three-match ban to work his wizardry on the ground where the legendary Sir Stanley Matthews thrilled the seaside crowds for so many years a decade or three ago.

Teenagers Steve Germain, Andy Walker, Sean Hillier and Sam Okafor are joining Lua Lua for the long trip to Bloomfield Road.

And it is likely that youth team goalkeeper Walker, and French striker Germain, will make their full debuts.

Germain has already made a handful of League appearances as a second-half substitute, but young Walker has never played in the first team before.

Wadsworth said: "Now that our second division status is assured, the match at Blackpool gives me a chance to experiment and try out a few things. Young lads like Andy Walker and Germain can go out and enjoy themselves.

"They can play with nothing to worry about now that the pressure is well and truly off."

Geraint "Old Timer" Williams, who is currently thinking over a new player-coach role at Layer Road, is bucking the youth trend with a last game of the season recall having missed the U's previous four matches because of a knee injury.

The U's will be making an early 6.30am start for the match, travelling on day to Blackpool.

Leeds United and newly-promoted Sunderland are expected to lead the race for £4million rated ex-U's star midfielder Mark Kinsella if Charlton Athletic are relegated from the Premiership.
