Campaigners have expressed concern at a Health watchdog's lack of decision about whether to support or oppose the night closure of Harwich's minor injuries unit.
The North Essex Community Health Council last week decided to wait for more discussions before deciding its stance over Essex Rivers Healthcare Trust's plan to shut the unit at the Main Road site in Dovercourt overnight.
Council chairman Mary Norman told committee members not to make a hasty decision and added: "There might be another way of doing it and it might be a service which can be more consistently maintained."
But Vickie Williams, of Tendring Health Action Group, said she was worried - although not really surprised - at the council's response.
She said: "We are concerned about it but this is how the council reacted when the health authority first announced plans to close services at the hospital."
Mrs Williams said the council is waiting to hear what stance Tendring Primary Care Group is going to take over the nighttime closure of the minor injuries unit, which the action group is opposing.
The car group meets tomorrow to make its decision.
