Former Lithuanian international Lorestas Trumpauskas topped the individual averages in his first season in the Chelmsford & District table tennis league with a record of 92 per cent.
His was a remarkably successful season in which he also captured the Chelmsford men's singles title, was runner-up in the Essex Closed men's singles final and obtained a "dummy" national ranking of 18 in England.
His only losses in the Chelmsford league were to Dave Cole, Cris Sladden and Ryan Savill. Sladden in fact remained unbeaten in his 15 singles matches but failed to play enough games to make the individual averages.
However, Cris will be delighted that he has received a call-up to play for England in their British Aerospace sponsored-trip to the Saudi Arabian Open.
Of the players who played in most of their team's matches three other records stand out: Joe Lewington (ECC D) with a superb 49 wins out of 53 in division two, Barry Mays (Maldon B) with an outstanding return of 38 wins out of 39 in the third division and Ashton Parker (OCs D) with 88 per cent in division five.
In all three cases their contributions helped their teams capture their respective divisional titles.
