Tiptree Road Runners started the Bank Holiday weekend with some fine results at the Witham Half Marathons.
Brigid Wallen ran an excellent personal best by four minutes to finish second lady overall and first veteran.
Alan Fisher hit top form again, having a superb run inside 76 minutes in the holiday sun, also finishing second overall and being the first veteran to finish and won the first V50 trophy.
Martyn Byford enjoyed the course and conditions to finish fourth overall and first V40 with Chris Applegate running in second V40, only just ahead of Malcolm Bailey with Nick Smith the last to finish for Tiptree.
In the "junior run" Tiptree's Russell Fisher had an excellent run to improve on last year's effort to finish in eighth place with a terrific time of 0.20.58.
At the Halstead 10, Road Race on Sunday, the Tiptree team racing on the hilly, scenic course was led by Andy Childs.
Deb Childs improved on her Stowmarket time by a minute, clearly enjoying the beautiful weather on the day and finished 13th lady.
In the accompanying 5k fun run, Tiptree's Roger Duffield just missed the 21 minute mark but nevertheless finished first V55, followed by son Mark who was second U16.
Tiptree club runners went en-masse to Felixstowe to compete in the popular five miler event.
On Monday, the glorious weekend sunshine continued and was appreciated as runners had a head win to run into along the promenade.
The five "one mile lap" race featured a steep climb away from the prom where tremendous support from the Bank Holiday crowd helped everybody.
Martyn Byford led Tiptree home in 0.31.14 with Chris Applegate just 30 seconds behind.
