Glendene Cycling Club's Richard Whitehorn was crowned Juvenile Essex Champion and the All London British Schools Cycling Association Champion on Saturday.
Riding at the Eastway Circuit, East London, Richard, 15, was the first to cross the line in the one lap race, which was one of the races run as part of the Eastern Counties Cycling Association Festival Weekend.
Other riders in action during the weekend were Murat Ozdenya who was seventh in the 3rd/4th categories race at High Easter, while Tony Couchman came tenth in the 1st/2nd/3rd categories race, which was held earlier on the Sunday morning.
In the veterans race at Eastway on Sunday Terry Devine was placed seventh, while Richard Witherspoon competed in a 25 mile time trial in one hour one minute 50 seconds, but was disappointed to receive an additional seven minute 11 second penalty because of a late start.
