A baby had a lucky escape after firefighters had to free him from his highchair.
The adventurous eight-month-old frightened the life out of his parents after slipping down in the highchair and getting trapped by his head.
His distraught parents, not knowing what to do, called out the fire brigade.
Firefighters raced to the family's home in Hornsland Road, Canvey, and freed the trapped youngster within minutes, much to the relief of his parents.
A spokesman for Canvey fire station said: "This thankfully doesn't happen very often.
"In this case it was the fault of a poorly designed high chair where the tray had been bolted on.
"Luckily the little boy was none the worse for his ordeal."
