Nuisance motorcyclists who roar through villages are being targeted in a high-profile police campaign.

From Saturday traffic officers have been actively targeting speeding bikers, illegal machines, or those causing problems by travelling in large groups.

It is also hoped the initiative will reduce the number of road deaths in the county. Last year a fifth of people who died on Essex roads were motorcyclists. The crackdown will last throughout the summer in rural areas of Essex.
