Strange as the pattern of weather is at the moment, the Ladies section of Chelmsford Golf Club have been able to complete two of their Essex County Ladies Golf Union fixtures.
The Ladies Silver team entertained Abridge Ladies in the second round of the Interclub Trophy.
Following their 7-0 win at Orsett, Chelmsford carried on with a 7-0 victory over Abridge.
However it was noticeable that the Abridge Ladies stuck to their task despite the differences in handicap and the speed of the greens at Chelmsford.
The Silver team captain, who is also the Ladies Captain, was Eileen Croicer and the team was Trish Wilson, Kelly Martin, Jean Johnson, Alison Evans, Amanda Colgate, Ann Simpson and Shirley Beard.
The Ladies Bronze team, under the captaincy of Linda Parrott, entertained Clacton Golf Club in the third of their league fixtures.
The Chelmsford team included Norma Tattersall who was playing her first representative club match.
The result was a loss on the 18th but the experience gained will stand good for future games, Chelmsford losing 6-1.
The Chelmsford team was Maureen Quinn, Pauline Burrells, Dianna Kendrick, Myra Metcalf, Lyn Beer, Nita Lloyd and Norma Tattersall.
The ladies of Channels Bronze team continued their successful run by beating Hanover GC 7-0 over the Channels course last week.
The winning team was Ann Malyon, Caroline Bird, Marjorie Pitt, Sandra Bramley, Doreen Harrowell, Joyce Thorndyke and Tina Daw.
Two more Channels ladies joined in the winning streak when Lis Gander and Marlene Wilson competed in and won 6 & 4 in the first round of the Munro Foursomes against West Essex GC.
On Thursday, the Lady and Veterans Society members combined to play in their Bi-Annual Mixed competition.
This was won by Sandra Bramley and Tom Wilson with 42 points on countback from Ellen Ridgewell and Doug Squire. Third place was taken by Maria Davis, playing with Brian Jenkins (38 points).
Member Keith Otter celebrated his 50th birthday on the Friday by organising a Charity Golf Day, the real winner being the BLISS Charity Fund which finished £196 better off.
Sunday was the April Monthly Medal day for the Channel' men members.
The Division One winner was Phil Roberts who scored a gross 77, handicap 10 giving him a net 67. Ross Wilson took second place and the scratch prize by coming in with a gross 70 and another net 67 off his three handicap only surrendering the first medal place on countback.
In Division Two Stephen Morley led the way coming in first with a gross 93, handicap 24, net 69. Scott Mordicai was second with his 88, 18, 70 scoreline.
On Saturday, the ladies and gentlemen of Regiment Way Golf Centre invited their friends along for the Annual Guest Day.
The Fourball Better Ball Stableford Competition was won by Nick Hawkins partnered by Julia Munson who scored 45 points.
John Chapman playing with his brother Barry was second on 42 points followed closely by Val Cook and her guest Sue Mitchell, one point behind on41.
The Winter Knockouts have been concluded, the ladies winner being Claire Comber who secured a seven and six win over Paula Hawkins. Ken Rush won the Men's, 3 & 1 over Mick Franks.
The Three Rivers Golf Club Ladies April Medal results were (1st) Sue Ounan (2nd) Pat Midgley and (3rd)Dolly Wils.
The Ladies Bronze team were successful in their first two matches both of which were played at home.
The first match was against Gosfield Lakes and resulted in a 4-3 victory, and they then beat Frinton Ladies 4-3 to maintain the Rivers' promising start to the season .
The Spring Meeting was held recently and resulted in a LGU Medal win for Michelle Lane.
The a.m. competition was split into two parts with the Scratch prize winner being Sue Britten and the Handicap prize going to Julia Billing.
The afternoon competition was a fun match described as "Stableford Cocktail", and the winning team consisted of Julia Billing and Margaret Mann.
