Former Colchester favourite Paul Gibbs this week celebrated being picked for the PFA's Nationwide Division Three representative side.
Gibbs joined Plymouth Argyle from Torquay, after Colchester beat them in the play-off final. And he is now set for a £100,000 move but first he is to have an operation in the summer on his nose.
He said: "I'm delighted to get the PFA award. I was a bit surprised as I had only played 20 or so games due to a knee operation, maybe it's because of my blond hair that I stand out and players remember me."
Gibbs has been joined at Plymouth by U's striker Mark Sale who has been enjoying a successful loan period at Home Park.
Gibbs said: "Saley has done very well. He has scored a couple of goals and been making himself a real handful. He doesn't know what will be happening and it is about the same with me.
"I am looking to leave in the summer. I have been priced at £100,000 and there is talk a London club may come in for me."
Plymouth have missed out on a possible Wembley play-off final and deprived Gibbs of a possible record by being the only player to appear at Wembley with three different clubs in successive years.
