A team of detectives have swooped on a Little Burstead house, seizing cannabis worth up to £70,000.
Officers from the National Crime Squad raided Holmleigh, a house on Laindon Common Road, at around 10.30am on Monday.
After searching the house, they uncovered dozens of what they believed to be 'skunk' cannabis plants, eventually seizing more than 300.
A 31-year-old man from South Woodham Ferrers was due to appear before Chelmsford magistrates yesterday charged with cultivation of cannabis and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
The property raided by NCS officers this week.
