Police were today investigating a spate of vandalism plaguing Billericay's Lake Meadows after youths struck once more.
The park's bowling green, putting greens and cricket wicket were damaged during the late-night attack
Four windows in an outbuilding were also smashed, leaving the Basildon Council-owned park with a bill of £1,000.
The authority and police were today considering how they can prevent the trouble happening again.
The vandalism was the latest in a series of incidents at the park since the evenings grew lighter a few weeks ago.
Children's play equipment has been showered with glass and the toilet facilities so badly hit park workers now close them earlier than normal. Cars left nearby have also been targeted.
Young gangs are believed to be behind the trouble and break into the park late at night by climbing over the surrounding fences. Altogether around £1,500 damage has been caused.
A council spokesman said the park's staff were working with police to improve security and step up patrols in the area.
He added: "The park is there for every member of the community and it's extremely unfortunate that people are causing this trouble and spoiling the facilities for everyone.
"If anybody knows anything about these incidents or sees anything happening we would ask them to contact the police straight away."
