Top band Prodigy are to pay their respects to a fan who died after being attacked in a pub brawl.
Karl Morris, 23, suffered a fractured skull in a fight outside the Queen's Arms in Great Cornard, Sudbury, on Good Friday and died the next day.
A track by the Braintree band which topped the charts with Firestarter, is to be played at his funeral. And the band is due to send a wreath in memory.
Karl's father, Peter, of Hilltop Rise, Weeley, described the farewell gesture as "fabulous".
The move was prompted after Mark Savage, who works for the band's management company, read in the Evening Gazette Karl loved music and was a fan of the group.
Mark, who lives in Jaywick, said: "It touches you and I just felt we ought to do something."
The band is out of the country at the moment but Mark said he contacted his boss Mike Champion of Essex-based Midi-Management.
"We agreed that if it was all right with the family we would send a wreath and signed card and I would represent the group at the funeral - if it was OK." He said there was no doubt the group would agree.
The funeral is not expected to be held for some weeks.
A 22-year-old man from Bures has been charged with affray in connection with the incident. Police want to trace a 28-year-old man from Suffolk.
