State-of-the-art public loos are heading for Rayleigh and Rochford - and they will make spending a penny far more convenient.
Rochford District Council is planning to splash out £172,130 on the ultra-modern toilets in Rochford's Back Lane and Crown Hill, Rayleigh.
Members of the council's finance and general purposes committee will have decide, at a meeting on Tuesday, whether or not to spend the money on revamping the toilets.
The council has asked toilet experts Interpublic to do the work which will take around 12 to 16 weeks to complete.
The improvements will include:
Touch flush in all cubicles
Automatic flush on exit systems l Disabled cubicles fitted with panic alarms
Fully automatic wash basins with one touch soap, water and warm air
Baby changing facilities in the ladies
Under floor heating
Energy saving air extractors.
