As predicted last week the warmer weather has increased the water temperature and the fish have become more active and starting feeding well.
The Saturday Fennes open attracted nineteen anglers and Kevin Baker (Browning Trent Tackle) became the first angler to break the half ton barrier this year, as he put a match winning 50-1-0 of mainly small carp on the scales.
Trevor Davies (Goat and Boot) took second place with 42-14-0, followed by Alan Lee who had 29-13-0. On Sunday the entry was twenty two and Terry Lowe (Bill's Tackle) drew the peg that had produced second place on the Saturday.
Incredibly he had exactly the same weight of 42-14-0, which gave him first place. Trevor Davies repeated his second spot again with 39-3-0 and Danny Rampley (team Fennes Fisheries) took 35-0-0 for third.
Sections (excluding top three):- A G Blake (Sensas Bills Tackle) 24-7-0, B Hales 23-3-0, c T Haroen (Goat and Boot) 21-9-0, D K Grieve (Bills Tackle) 28-2-8.
As the results have improved, the matches are becoming fully booked more quickly, so if you want to fish either Saturday or Sunday opens, don't delay, book today, phone Kevin Chapman on 01376 323285.
