Derby day passion threatened to boil over at Clacton during the home side's 1-1 draw with Brightlingsea.
The two benches had to be pulled apart after an incident involving Seasiders' defender Andy McDonald and Brightlingsea boss Gary Harvey.
Harvey appeared to make comments to McDonald after a foul by the Clacton player.
The tension continued as the players left the pitch after the game.
Harvey later apologised over the incident which he described as "heated".
