Trees in Langdon Hills have been vandalised just weeks after they were planted following another attack.
Vandals struck again outside the Nightingales shops. Some of the trees have been twisted, others uprooted and left lying on the ground, while three are missing.
Councillor Sandra Hillier, a resident of the Nightingales estate, is outraged by the mindless destruction.
She said: "At a time when we have young men fighting for the freedom of the Albanian Kosovans, what do some of our other young men do? They vandalise their own neighbourhood."
Several of the young trees were planted by the council several weeks ago to replace trees that were damaged last year. Others were just two years old.
Mrs Hillier said: "It seems that some have been swung on and twisted round and round. What kind of kick do they get from destroying trees, whose purpose is to look good and ultimately provide us with oxygen?"
