Easter time is traditionally the period when promotion and relegation issues are often settled one way or another, and for Braintree Town, the holiday certainly left no doubt that their chances of going up to the Ryman League Premier Division have finally been scuppered.
Taking only one point from a possible six over the weekend, Iron's hopes of playing in the Premier Division next season have almost certainly disappeared after at one time looking so promising.
For several weeks the writing has been on the wall with one poor result following another as the club battled against a mounting injury list which has obviously affected the team's performance.
