This year's Easter Bank Holiday Monday motorsport meeting at Arena-Essex looks like being one of the biggest yet, with no less than 16 teams booked in to do battle in round one of the PRI Banger Team Championship.

Romford's Kev Wilsher and the notorious "Suicide Squad" will be anxious to regain the title they lost last year to World Champ John Harris (Orpington) "Cream Team".

The Deacon Brothers "Canvey Island Cowboys" are back for another bash, along with George Rowbotham's Ilford "Ant Hill Mob", the Chelmsford "Gladiators", the Grays "Outlaws", and the mysterious "Team Dunno" from Collier Row.

In between some ferocious Banger Team Racing, the Ministox (all driven by 10-17 year olds) and the 1300 Stock Cars take part in their first Supreme Championship qualifying round -- on Monday.

And there is motor racing on Easter Sunday (April 4) too.

Aveley's Darren Read heads a terrific line-up of Group 'A' Hot Rods, Wickford's Andrew Armiger premiers his award winning two-litre powered rear wheel drive conversion Renault Clio in the PRI Hot Rods.

Find Arena-Essex on the A1306 by Lakeside, 400 yards from the M25 junction 30/31.

Stock Car/Hot Rod practice from 12.30pm, grand parade 1.45pm, first race 2pm. admission is £7.50 and £3.50 for U14/OAPs.
