The first Basildon Sunday League knockout competition of the season was decided when Armada Sports Reserves beat Wickford Town 3rd 4-2 to capture the Division Two Cup.
With both sides nervous and keen not to give away the advantage, Wickford went 1-0 up through Markettis after a defensive error.
Wickford could have gone further ahead as they piled on the pressure, but Armada turned the game round and levelled with a 25-yarder from Andy Rouse after 35 minutes.
Just before the break Jahngir found Harwood who scored to put Armada ahead. Sniffen made it 3-1 after the break when he put a superb header into the top of the net.
Rouse added his second to make it 4-1 and Armada seemed to have the game sewn up. However, Norman pulled back a goal for Wickford and came close to getting a third before the final whistle to see Armada home and dry.
In the Charity Cup Wickford Town, from the Senior Division, beat Premier Division York 5-2 with Matthews scoring a hat-trick and Batt two. York replied through Longman and Gower.
In the other Charity game, Senior Division Nicholas Wybacks looked to be coasting 2-1 with minutes of the game left with divisional rivals St Basil's. However, the Saints marched in from this point and scored in the dying minutes to force extra-time.
When this failed to find a winner, St Basil's ran out 5-4 penalty winners.
In the Premier Division, Somerset Athletic won their first game since November when beating Canvey RBL 5-3. Avers grabbed a hat-trick.
Yardley drew 2-2 with Fiat.
