Schoolgirl Faye Dyke is set to make sporting history by becoming the first girl to take part in a world rugby tournament.
Faye, 11, who plays for Chelmsford Rugby Club under-ten's team, is jetting off to South Africa to take part in an Easter mini-rugby festival.
She will become the first girl ever to take part in the prestigious event.
The nine and ten-year-old youngsters have been chosen to represent Chelmsford and take on the rest of the world next week.
The 15 team members won their right as a prize in a national rugby festival held in Nottingham last year.
Together with 60 friends and relatives, they will arrive in Durban on Easter Sunday ready to play teams from Natal, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.
The team have been training for months at their Coronation Park headquarters under both standard and South African rugby union rules.
The squad now have their own kit to reflect that they are representing Chelmsford and England.
