Robbie Williams could be playing the role of Colchester drug addict in a Hollywood film.
The heart-throb pop star could even be filming on the streets of Colchester if he accepts a £1 million offer to star in Addict.
The film's producers have reportedly offered Millennium man Robbie the plum role in the movie based on the life of former drug addict Stephen Smith.
But Robbie's record company was not saying anything about the alleged deal today.
Mr Smith - now a successful businessman living in Germany - wrote an autobiography charting his destitute life as an amphetamine addict on the streets of Colchester 20 years ago.
And a publicist claims that the film crew may well come back to the streets of Monkwick to shoot some of the scenes for the film.
Robbie Williams - the UK's biggest star after scooping three Brit Awards - has fought a public battle against drink and drugs, and film-makers thought that he would be perfect for the role.
Although the extrovert star made his name with Take That and later as a solo artist, he was strongly involved in acting when he was younger and critics have long tipped him as a future star of the big screen.
