Bring back David Webb - that was the clear and concise message to the Southend United board from fans following the weekend resignation of manager Alvin Martin.
Feedback on This Is Essex partner paper the Evening Echo's Talkback line was packed with messages on who the new Roots Hall supremo should be.
And the message was loud and clear - Webb is the man supporters want to see in charge for a third time.
Southend's Peter Watkins was firmly of the opinion that Webb is the man needed to restore pride at Roots Hall. That was a message firmly backed by Canvey's Brad Simpson who had the simple message: "Webb is the best manager we've ever had."
Westcliff's Tim Hardingham was firmly of the opinion that Blues must go for a man with proven experience.
Another follower backed this theme and gave the thumbs down to the idea that coach Mick Gooding should take over.
"We must go for experience," he said. "Look where appointing inexperienced managers such as Ronnie Whelan and Alvin Martin has got us."
Basically, the message was loud and clear for chairman John Main. As Rochford's Nick Bassett said loud and clear: "Get David Webb."
