Star of the day was 16 year old Jason Crowhurst who took gold at his first senior event in the Squires category for ages 16/17.
He went on to win a Bronze in the full Senior Men's category. Jason has studied Judo since he was eight and is now an assistant Instructor at Stanway Audo Club.
His club mate and fellow assistant instructor, Philip Nowell, also battled well to win Silver in the Squires category at a higher weight.
Other commendable results were: Bronze: 25k Michael James, 40k Guy Clarke, 45k Michael Ward, 50k Emily Hughes, 50k Katy Hughes.
Jason is likely to be selected to represent Great Britain in an International event in Holland later in the year.
