We've gone green!
Colchester's long-awaited first dedicated bus lane has arrived - and become quite a talking point in the town.
A few motorists, unaware of the changes, tried to park in the lane on North Hill this morning and others were seen driving through it.
But from today the lane is a permanent fixture and motorists should get used to the new system, fast, or face tickets and fines.
Over the weekend workers painted the lane on the road and added the distinctive green paint to try to avoid confusion.
From today, only buses, taxis, cabs, cyclists and motorcyclists are permitted to use the lane between 9am and 6pm Monday to Saturday.
Businesses on North Hill have complained that the lane will mean an end to the 30-minute parking on the hill which their customers relied on.
