Antique clock seller Bob Alps always has a mammoth task trying to keep his 50 timepieces accurate.
Bob, proprietor of It's About Time, in London Road, Westcliff, will face a chronological ordeal on Sunday when the clocks go forward an hour.
He said: "You try but it's impossible to keep them all at the same time. People come in and want to listen to them strike so you move the hands and that's it.
"There's quite a cacophony at midday when they all start to strike."
