Thursday's match was pulsating from the start with chances and goal action at both ends.
Chieftains started the brighter and Langford in the Invicta net was the busier of the goalkeepers in the first ten minutes, and with both goalkeepers in fine form, the first period remained goalless.
It was not until 29.10 that Chieftains broke the deadlock, Jon Cotton netting against his former club.
Dynamos levelled at 33.49 when Kyle Dolman squeezed the puck in between pad and post.
Chieftains regained the lead on 35.36 when good forechecking by Richard Whiting enabled Andy Hannah to slot home from the resultant pass.
Invicta responded with arguably the luckiest goal of the season when a Dolman shot cannoned off the back perimeter netting to go in off a defender's skates at 37.12.
Dynamos struck again when Mikko Skinnari hit a fine effort past Macleod in the Chieftains' net.
Chieftains levelled at 41.19 when Karl Rogers and Cotton set up Hannah for a goal.
Chieftains regained the lead on 50.42 when a speculative Hannah 'log' from the blue line eluded Langford to record the Canadian's hat-trick.
Back came Invicta and on 54.50 Mike Kindred stroke through to beat Macleod.
With time running out Chieftains took what seemed likely to be a winning lead at 56.58 when a good break by Craig Metcalf and Brian McLaughlin set up Rogers for an opportune goal.
As time ticked away, Rogers was penalised for tripping and Dynamos opted to withdraw their goalkeeper for 6 on 4 skaters, and at 59.38, a Kindred shot found its way in through a ruck of players to leave the scores at 5-5.
