A former Clacton couple have been officially commissioned to work with the Church of Bangladesh.
Andrew Symonds, a former pupil of Clacton County High School, is leaving for Bangladesh with wife Rosemary and will be working as a tutor at St Andrew's Theological College in the capital Dhaka.
Mr Symonds has given up his career as an architect to study theology and will be training clergy and establishing a lay training programme.
Mrs Symonds, a former bank manager, will be using her skills to train clergy in basic management.
