Hullbridge Sports stage one of the biggest events in the club's history on Sunday afternoon when Martin Chivers brings his star-studded ex-Spurs XI to Lower Road.

The proceeds from the game will be used towards purchasing new floodlights for the Schweppes Essex Senior League club and promises to provide a feast of football for fans who go along.

Great names from the past, from whom Chivers' line-up will be selected, include Melio Lexic, John Pratt, Tony Galvin, Les Boughey, Paul Price, Paul Miller, Jimmy Neighbour, Dennis Cook, Gary Brooke, Paul Allen, Mark Falco, Dennis Bond and Terry Gibson.

Kick-off is at 3pm and tickets are priced at £4 for adults and £2.50 for children and concessions.

Also, there is a tea-room buffet where the public will have opportunities to meet the players and obtain autographs. Entry to this is by ticket only costing £3 which includes refreshments.

Those wishing to attend can book before by ringing the ticket line on 01702 230420, but there will be plenty of room on the day and you can pay at the gate.

The teams will be playing for the Fullmen Trophy. The Fullmen Group, engineering, have generously agreed to sponsor the match and Mitre and Sports Review Romford (sports and sportswear retailer) have agreed to provide the matchballs.

Gates will open from 1.30pm as will the licensed bar and refreshment facilities. A half-time charity raffle will be held (donated prizes include midi hi-fis and bottles of whisky) in aid of Little Havens Hospice.

A representative will attend to accept the proceeds.
