Southend Hospital's breast cancer unit is more than £4,000 better off today thanks to the work of a local fundraising group.
Bosom Pals, the charity that represents the unit, picked up a cheque for £4,050 at the annual dinner dance of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes in Westcliff's Arlington Rooms on Saturday night.
The money was raised from a variety of events last year, including garden parties and a sponsored three-legged pub crawl.
