Mistley took the opportunity to introduce new players into the first team set up when local rivals Harwich were the visitors to Furze Hill on Saturday.
Both sides made the best of perfect rugby weather to produce an open running game. The nine players Mistley introduced from last week fitted in well and showed the strength of the squad training.
From the kick off Mistley took the game to Harwich and within five minutes debutant Stewart Skilling outran the defence to score his first points for the club.
The home side continued to exert pressure and after the forwards, led by Neil Baxter, had driven up the centre of the park quick ball was produced for Ian Wilkinson to drop a goal.
He went on to add two conversions. Captain Steve Betts led by example, punching holes deep into Harwich territory, his contribution led to him crossing the line twice.
Matt Skilling, not wanting to be outdone by his brother, set out on a jinking run which left the defence flat footed to score his first try for the team.
Mistley's final try came from the hooker Kev Giles who sprinted from the 22, literally through the defence to score a magnificent try in the corner.
Mistley showed they have a very positive future with youngsters Matt Skilling and Tom Sibley shining, and newcomer Stewart Skilling showing great strength and speed on the wing.
