Police have released the name of the motorcyclist killed in an accident on the B1057 between Great Bardfield and Dunmow.
Alan Rushforth, 41, of Ashdon Road, Saffron Walden, died after his blue and white Suzuki RG250 cycle was involved in a collision with a red Citroen Xantia.
The driver of the Citroen, Rosemary Matthews, 45, of Highfields, Great Yeldham, was treated for shock after the smash, which happened at about 10.20am on Saturday.
The collision occurred about a mile outside the village of Great Bardfield on the Dunmow side.
Traffic police at Bocking are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to contact them on 01376 330722
