All seven table tennis teams from Peniel Academy, Brizes Park, Brentwood, returned as National Champions after the National Schools Table Tennis Championships, held at Kesteven and Grantham Table Tennis Centre in Grantham.
The seven teams had qualified through county, area and regional finals.
"This was a staggering result," said headteacher Mrs Esther Coleman. The competition was extremely hard and for four of the teams the result was literally decided on the outcome of the last match.
"The Boys U11 team drew their final match against Redlands Junior School, Bristol and won on countback of sets for and against.
"The Boys U19 team pulled off a spectacular result by beating Bedford Modern 5-3 having been 3-1 down at the halfway stage.
"We are very proud of our pupils. They have worked hard to achieve this success. No one school has ever held seven titles at one time.
"Next year we hope to make it a clean sweep and take all eight titles," added Mrs Coleman.
